Authentic happiness: The theory and practice of wellbeing
What makes us happy? This is a question which has been contemplated since the Ancient Greeks and now there is a science of happiness which shows what does and doesn’t make a difference to our wellbeing.
This workshop explores the two dimensions of happiness. Hedonic wellbeing - the happiness we get from pleasure and enjoyment and Eudaimonic wellbeing - the deeper kind of happiness which comes from having meaning and purpose in life, playing to your strengths and realising your potential.
You will be introduced to the science and practice of wellbeing. You will get to know the 3 pillars of authentic happiness - the pleasurable life, the engaged life and the meaningful life. You will sample some of the scientifically-grounded tools that raise the bar on your happiness, inspired by Prof Martin Seligman's model of authentic happiness. Mental health awareness
Many of us know little about mental health compared to our physical health. Stigma and lack of awareness can stop people from talking about their mental health, delaying them from getting the support needed for recovery. Early intervention and starting conversations around mental health is vital if we are to create healthy and resilient organisations.

N.B. This session can be tailored for management and senior management to include what is required by an organisation by law to support individuals and avoid discrimination.
Boost your resilience
The way you react to challenges and setbacks is a reflection of how resilient you are. Resilient people don't dwell on the fact that things don't always go quite as planned. They simply learn from their experiences and move forward.
Our resilience sessions explore ways of boosting your self-confidence and coping more effectively with setbacks, both in and out of the workplace.
You’ll explore the tools you need to develop a resilient attitude and examine the differences between pressure (which can be positive and motivating) and stress (a natural reaction to too much pressure).
After completing this session you’ll be able to:
Resilience: Power of the micro-action
Small changes and small ideas for your working life can be as important as the big, headline ones. This is what psychologists term ‘micro-actions’ and these are well known to effect change. What may seem at first like trivial issues: your phone use or your journey to work can play an important role in wellbeing.
We all have the ability and resources within us to adopt small, ‘trivial’ changes which are likely to succeed. And any success is a positive step. The momentum of one first positive change, however small, allows you to build on it and be more confident about making bigger changes. That positivity will diffuse into the other, more significant aspects of life and help you make the big changes to improve stress levels and emotional wellbeing.
During this session you’ll learn how micro-actions are easy to adopt and, crucially, easy to sustain and succeed at. You’ll understand how each micro-success brings with it a tiny piece of positive momentum and some confidence, which become the springboard to the next positive step.
After completing this session you’ll be able to:
Emotional intelligence for success
Ground-breaking research by Daniel Goleman has redefined intelligence and success. During this session you’ll explore why emotional intelligence (EI) is an important part of career adaptability and how it can improve your success and wellbeing, both personally and professionally. You’ll look at ways of developing your EI, leading to increased self-awareness, improved performance and motivation and stronger relationships. After completing this session you’ll be able to:

“In some ways, one's address book is one of the most important things one has. This workshop will help you identify what networking really is and why it is important along with providing you with practical tools to be able to network and to do it effectively and efficiently.
